A Level Results

It doesn't seem two minutes since we bid Year 13 farewell, but the A Level results are here!

We are pleased to see our pass rate go up again, from 98% now to 99%, this is a real credit to the young people. Just under half the results were at A or B grade, sustaining our average points score at 220.

In a year when it is so difficult to secure a place at University to have 80% gain the place of their choice, including courses such a Medicine and Dentistry is excellent news for the young people.

Particular credit is due to the 17 young people in Year 13 who achieved a clean sweep of three or indeed four top grades; this is a real achievement. Well done to Philip Roger, Caroline Rothschild, Ben Turner, Samantha Walker, Rachel Ware, Jessica Coates, Gemma Coombes, Rebecca Foster, Laura Helliwell, Elodie Kendal, Robin Lawrence, Andrew Lister, Rosie Misset, Greg Ogle Rolfe, Louisa Oxland, Katy Padgett and Vikram Pattak.

We are very proud of all of the young people and wish them every success moving forward.

RECORD GCSE RESULTS!

We are really pleased that our young people have achieved record GCSE results for the fifth year in a row. This Year 11 were a credit to the school from the day they arrived, and I am delighted that 96% of them have achieved 5 or more GCSEs at grades A* to C, with the school sustaining a GCSE A* to C score in excess of 90% again.

There is much to praise in all of their achievements, especially as nearly 40% of candidates each gained 3 or more A* grades, and 81 young people achieved five or more grades at A* or A grade with 151 gaining good English and Maths passes.

24 young people gained eight or more A and A* grades, so special congratulations are due to Bradley Bennet, Sophie Foster, Natasha Griffiths, Liam Hicks, Catherine Hills, Thomas Hinchcliffe, Lydia Lee, Gemma Lunn, Charlotte Price, Adam Smith, Woody Nunn, Eleanor Smyth, Zoe Toone, Hannah Turver, Jack Tyson, Victoria Camidge, Bethany Coombes, Ryan Cornelissen, Megan Croll, Laura Cutts, Florence Fisher, Rianne McDonald and Laura Midgley.

Boston Spa School's commitment to see year on year rise in academic achievement is absolute, and we look forward to supporting next year's GCSE cohort to meet further challenge.
