Thank you for your support for Year 11 at our subject consultation evening. The key data is now all held on the ‘Magee Proforma’ which is stuck in each Year 11 exercise book. With excellent timing (there’s a two week holiday around the corner) these itemise the gaps that need to be closed before the next exams.

With Year 11 parents in school Mr Brennan was again busy fielding enquiries about the developments in Elliott Hudson College at Boston Spa. This week, on Tuesday and Thursday, we had two important meetings which represent the first stages of bringing the drawings into reality. We are really excited about this work, not least the transformation that it will bring to our ICT facilities.

We are impressed by the yoga skills of Lily Dowson, Emily Meehan, Izzy Day and Evie Wilkinson; six weeks in and they have mastered (along with Miss Burman and Miss Forster) the ‘half-moon’ pose.

Can I commend our Christmas concert to you? It takes place in Tuesday 11th December at 7.00pm. You will be very welcome.

Well done to all of the following who received praise from me during PD Hour this week: Millie Edwards, Orla Toolan, Oakley Waters, Katie Mitchell, Ben Smith, Vanshika Singh, Abbi Tasker, James Ball, Kiran Hussain, Molly Reynolds, Joe Ogden, Poppy Smith, Emma Garlick, Maddie Thompson, Grace Sykes, Ava Bagshaw, Maya Phillott, Elyse Craig, Kamiah Davis, Ayaan El Sayed, Louise Evans, Luke Brooks, Harry Meaden, Jacob Rayner, James Tucker, Rachel Wilson, Abbie Hedley, and Lily Dunlop.

On Monday our Year 8 students travelled to Morley Academy to compete in the annual Gorse Games Indoor Athletics Championships. Students competed well and represented Boston Spa impeccably.

Although full results have yet to be published, some highlights from the games included the following; both the boys’ and the girls’ relay teams coming in second place, Teegan Lees coming joint 1st in her 2 lap sprint, Maya Stephens coming 1st in her 4 lap race, Heath Brough coming 2nd in his 1 lap sprint race and Daniel Myers coming 3rd in the speed bounce
